I have a 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS with a 1.8 L 2ZZ engine and 130,000 miles. I love this car but the transmission has gone out. The car has been at the Toyota dealership (Murfreesboro, TN) for 2 months with no luck finding a transmission (junk yard or rebuilt) for this year, make, and engine model. It seems this is a rare engine and transmission combination. Toyota finally located a shop that was willing to rebuilding the transmission for $5,600. Any ideas? or is it time to retire this car to the auto salvage yard. I really like the Matrix. Thank you!

AutoZone is showing at least 6 reman transmissions, part number -
A513003, A5033002, M10169, T500752, etc. All have at least a 3 year warranty. Good luck.
