Should I buy this 4Runner

Hi Scotty, I am looking to buy a 2003 Toyota 4Runner with 174K miles on it from a dealership. It has a dent on the door behind the driver that it is starting to rust. When I started up, the ABS light stays on. I ask the guy if I can take the car to my mechanic but he refused and stated that the mechanic should come to check the car. Also the inspection sticker is expired and I was told that with temporary plates, I can get it inspected. The asking price is $5,500. Would you recommend buying it or should I look for car being sold by a private individual? Thanks.

Use the rusted door dent as an excuse to bargain hard on the price.

If a mechanic checks it out, and gives you the go ahead, it might still have a lot of life left in it.

Oh and price out a replacement door either new or from a junkyard.

it might be a good buy

have a mechanic check it out

Have your mechanic check the whole car. It seems that repair on the car is not up to date and may have some issues, but you never know, it may be a good deal.

Check that baby out for any frame rust/rot! You'll be glad you did.

It seems like it has a lot of pricey imperfections. Get it is it's the v6 and leave it if it's the v8.
