The replacement air filter I bought has hard plastic edges. It seems to me there should be a pliable edge or rubber gasket so there a good seal is made between the housing and the filter. Are new filters suppose to come with a gasket? {black}:crazy:
Some aftermarket filters don't have the best fit and you really have to force them in. In my own personal experience Fram and Motomaster, and filters don't have the best fit while Wix, Carquest, Napa, AC Delco, and Denso all fit like OEM filters.
Thanks! I see at Rock Auto some filters look like the hard-edged one I have, while a few appear to have a more pliable edge, or rubber gasket as with the AC Delco. I don't recall what brand the old one is or where I got it. It looks slightly dirty on the outflow side which is why I was concerned about the fit.
