2003 VW Jetta TDI?

Just looking for open discussion. I drive a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon TDI 5 speed manual, Made in Germany. 293,000 miles. It has been an absolutely fabulous car in my experience, I live in the UP of Michigan and it is easily the best 2WD car I’ve had in the snow (with all season tires mind you). Cold starts are a piece of cake, provided you cycle the glow plugs a few times. Other than the usual brake jobs, oil changes, shock absorbers, this car has been fabulous. Is it merely the configuration I have or did I just get lucky?

That generation was pretty good especially the TDIs I heard they could get 40 45 mpg on the highway.

I presume that yours was still made in Germany because it's the TDI. The ones from Mexico or Brazil or whatever from the same year were terrible. Also diesel engines are just more durable typically.

Yes it is a TDI and he says "Made in Germany."

@kerem yes I read that. I'm saying it might have been imported from Germany BECAUSE it's TDI.
ie. they didn't make any TDI's in S.America. smh

Where are the times when VW cars were decent... It is sad newer ones have bunch of problems.
