Hello scotty, My name is Steven and I have a 2003 Yukon Denali. There is an engine light. The code is for the gas cap. I have purchased the new gas cap and installed it. The engine light still remains on. What can I do to get rid of the engine light for the gas cap code. Thank you Scotty for your help.

Disconnect the battery. Drive it around and see if it comes back on. If it does there is a vacuum leak probably somewhere with the evap canister or around the tank.

Did you reset the code after installing the new gas cap?

When did you install it? Sometimes you have to drive around a bit before the light resets.
