First, I really appreciate the information you pass along.
My wife bought a new (leftover) 2019 Toyota, Highlander, Hybrid, AWD a couple of months ago.  The "check engine" light came on and she took it to the dealership.  Dealership said that it wasn't throwing any codes and it may have been a discharged battery.  They charged the battery (IDK) and told her that if the light came back on to promptly return.  I told her to dump it ASAP as a brand new car with problems won't get better.  What does Scotty say, please?

Bit, bit hasty to dump it? If light comes back, go back and have them look again, … it’s a new vehicle, not a demo, under full warranty, yes?

Well, what exactly is "new"? It sat at the dealership for 2 years. Warranty, yes! It may well need it and often. That does not give me warm fuzzies.

I know, … I understand. Still, I would take a bit of time, give them a bit of time to see if it can be sorted out. You will get a tremendous beating - financially - if you get rid of it right away.
Best,

I appreciate your comments and agree with the financial side. It's my wife's car. If she has to go to Kansas City or Saint Louis for business, what's her safety worth? Scotty has a new video that I refer to you: The End of Toyota Reliability 118,348 views•Nov 28, 2020

Yes. I totally agree with the above comment. If you want to dump the car, you loose lots of money.

This is Toyota and you have warranty so do not worry. It will be an excellent car for you and your wife.

You may be unlucky for that car but if you really prefer other cars, go right a head. Buy another brand. We are here to share our experiences and we do not get paid by no one. So be respectful.

It’s just a battery and if you are worried about it, get a basic AAA membership for her.
