Maintenance on a very low mileage 2004 Crown Vic?

Scotty,

I recently bought a '04 Crown Victoria LX Sport from the estate of a dear older lady. 28,000 miles, 4.6L, dual exhaust, air ride suspension. I've had Fords for 35 years. I intend to drive this forever and fix it forever.

Always garaged and well maintained, it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. I put 2,000 miles on it in the past month with no problems. I changed the oil with Mobil-1 5W-20 synthetic and bought a new set of tires. Should I change the diff fluid?  Plugs?  Clean the injectors?  What else should I do?

Trans fluid looks OK, but should I change it and "continue changing it" as if it were a new car, or leave it alone for fear of introducing slippage?

Should this car with its low mileage be considered "new" or "old?"

Blessings.  Andrew

"continue changing it" as if it were a new car

It's got 28k.... It is a new car.

If transmissions started slipping at 28k then we're all in trouble.

Welcome new member.

Ill let others comment on the transmission. But if I had a car like that I would do pretty much everything: coolant, differential fluid, brake fluid, steering fluid, air filter.  I would also consider changing out the radiator hoses and belt(s?). Maybe not spark plugs.

Sorry, I meant 5W-20.  5W-20 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic with the Ford oil filter (which is highly recommended over other oil filter options.)   The air filter was pretty dirty so I replaced that too.  The washer pump was bad, so I replaced that in 15 minutes for all of $28.  (If this had been a Volkswagen that probably would have cost me $800!)

I'm planning on doing everything to bring the car up to snuff and I'd like to do as much as possible myself. I want to keep the car entirely stock with maybe the exception of the miserable headlights!

Otherwise, the car is awesome and the mileage on the highway isn't really all that bad.
