Please help me! A 2004 Toyota Forerunner with a V6 engine is misfiring at idle only but when I rev the engine it fires up very well. The customer told me that after the car valves where replaced and plugs that was when the noticed that the car was shaking badly at idle.
When I checked for codes I saw p0016 pending and p2238 confirmed. I cleared the codes and the engine idle properly at the same time the check light went off but unfortunately within a minute or two the check engine light came back and the engine started vibrating/ misfiring again. Please what's the cause and permanent fix to this?
you cannot have proper ignition timing and engine operation with a faulty crankshaft signal. Fix that 1st.

Check the oxygen sensors, fuses for the oxygen sensors and the relays for oxygen sensors.
02 Sensor, Bank one - replace. Only use OEM sensor.
