The thumping noise has been present for a good amount of time. I have just started to be concerned about it because the car is now being used for long drives.
First - these things have already been checked and or replaced. Both front hub bearings, both front rotors. both front tires and rims.
Second - turning tests did not result in any clicking, popping, grinding or increased thumping.
Third - the thumping starts at about 20mph and persists through 80mph (fastest I checked). It is less prevalent when accelerating and more prevalent when decelerating. It does not matter what gear the transmission is in or even if it is in gear.
Any thoughts or guidance is appreciated.
You need to check all of the front end joints for wear as well as struts and strut mounts. 20 years is plenty of time for things to get loosey-goosey.

Thank you for your recommendations. Any possibility it could be an axle?
Scotty guesses it can be the driving axle or transmission at 4:17
