Hey Scotty! I am a grad student just outside Philly and I was hoping to make the trip home to New Hampshire in a few weeks for the holidays. I drive a 2004 Honda Element AWD automatic and just the other day it started resisting shifting into drive and reverse. I took it to an AAMCO and they told me that it is completely skipping 2nd gear and my only option is to replace the transmission. I'm your typical broke college student so there's not a chance in heck that I'm replacing it but my question is, is there any way I can make the drive from PA to NH in it? Or do I sell it as is and book a train home?

No one will be able to guarantee this and it's simply a risk you'll have to decide on. I'd get the train and try to trade/sell it when you get back.
