2004 Lexus ES330 No Throttle Response

Hello Scotty...long time fan.   I have 4 sons and my 3 oldest all drive 2004-2005 ES 330's.   I've had great success until the most recent 2004 that I bought for my 16 year old.   Bought the car and it ran great until about a month ago.   Changed out a simple fuse for the horn.  Went to back the car out of the garage and my son said the "pedal doesn't work".  What??!! Checked all the fuses, all good.   Ran my OBII tool and it threw a P2121 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor.  Pulled the pedal position sensor out and tried it in another one of my son's ES 330's.   Worked fine in his car.   Put it back in the original and nothing.   Tapped on the throttle body and throttle position sensor, ran scanner, cleared codes and it worked.   Ran fine for about a month.   Son called me from the gas station, same thing...no pedal.   Ordered new throttle body because the sensor can't be ordered separate.   R2 the throttle body...nothing.   I know it's good so I'm wondering if the pedal position transmitter might have an intermittent fault.  Still throwing the P2121 code.  Any ideas?? Thanks!

I think you may be dealing with an APP sensor issue and not a TPS sensor issue

Yeah, beginning to think that's the issue, although I swapped it in to one of my boys cars originally to test it as I said in my original post.  Electronic parts are funny that way...work and then they don't.

Maybe hook up your scanner and look at the APP voltage in Live Data. Even a wiring issue will show up there

Also, look at the freeze frame data from when that code was set
.
Did the APP or TPS voltage drop out?

Also, after replacing the Throttle bottle I've got a high idle. I think there is a relearn procedure, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know the relearn procedure? Hopefully I don't have to get it tuned.

The replacement parts you are getting are they OEM parts? Also have you checked the throttle pedal itself? I know the 3mzfe of that year should have 1st gen electronic throttle. Could be a fault there too

Yes, the throttle body I replaced was OEM. I believe the issue is with the pedal position sensor at the pedal. Going to order and replace. Need to do a relearn on the throttle body though due to a slightly high idle. Any info you have on that is welcome. Can't find any relearn procedures online.
