My car steering wheel was hard to turn so I figured it was low on power steering fluid, and it was. I filled it up and then let the car run. It was till tough to turn the wheel but it was drivable. Next my brother noticed the car was smoking, so then I stopped the car, turned it off and the smoke was coming from the power steering pump. I looked under the car and realized there was a leak. Is it possible that the hose just need replace or so I need to replace the whole entire pump as well. The pump is only a year old.
I would replace the power steering pump again and make sure to properly bleed the air out of the system. If it's smoking, it's too late for a fix. This time, try to get one with a limited, lifetime warranty and keep your receipt.
