So my girls car has been having this bad whistling noise from the engine, I assume it may have been from the exhaust. Took it to an exhaust shop & they can't find what causing the noise. Has anyone figured out this problem & is it worth getting it fixed? We got it for $2,200 & it has about 230,000 miles on it.

The noise you are describing might be a vacuum leak. Scotty has some videos on how to find vacuum leaks. Other methods are available (WD40 or brake fluid spray).

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me as well.

Wow! An exhaust shop that doesn't recognize nor can fix a vacuum leak! That's something!
