- Shift to Drive and it doesn't move forward. Shift to reverse, it backs up. Shift to drive and again it doesn't move. I shift to park, then drive again and it finally moves. Is there anything I can do to correct this issue. I've checked the transmission oil and it's ok.

You did not state mileage but at 22 years old it probably needs to be corrected by replacing the transmission due to internal mechanical problems. Has the transmission been properly serviced over the last couple of decades? Are there any transmission codes?
If you are lucky it might just be a solenoid problem.
Or possibly a problem with the transmission selector switch.
