Scotty,
For my high school son we have a formerly family owned 2004 Toyota Camry LE 2.4L 2AZ-FE. For it's first 13 years of life it was owned by an aunt and only had 67,000 miles when we bought from her in 2017. Now we have 87,000 miles on it and within the last few months we have an exhaust sounding noise coming from the engine area only in Forward. When in reverse you do not hear the sound at all. I do all the basic maintenance on the vehicle myself including full synthetic oil change every 3,000 miles for last 20,000 miles. I've been doing some research trying to find the issue and things like exhaust valve lifter issue. I have a video I could possibly upload where you can hear the difference between FWD and REV sounds coming from the engine. Any direction someone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob
Check for loose heat shields and motor mounts
