Hello, am from Lithuania, I got my brothers 2004 Volvo v50, I replaced all the filters, changed the oil - everything, but there's is one thing that I couldn't find a solution. There is this electrical problem when the front windshield wipers, the driver door window and other devices decide to stop working but after I park it in the garage the next day everything works fine again. I checked the fuses, wiring everything looked okay, replaced the battery. When I started to drive the car more often problems use to appear less often, what could cause this problem?
Kinda a weird one to throw at you, but how is your auto dimming rear view mirror doing? It it getting old and slow? Any issues with any of the buttons up there? For whatever reason for some volvos of that generation that wiring up there controls a lot of the base functions of the car including weather or not a door can unlock or not. Something to do with safety or something. I would check that out if you could as there are YouTube and Google on how to pry apart the plastic without breaking it, and I believe it's only a couple 8mm or torx bits you need to get to the "controller"
A lot of electrical issues on Volvo can get caused by the Central Electronic Module (or CEM)

I think you should go to an independent mechanic that knows how Volvos work so he can diagnose it correctly, but the good news is that on a car that old - it's probably not such a big issue to replace (on newer ones the ECU is coded into the CEM so you need special tools)
