I have a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu max with the V6 engine. While working with a mechanic to get the car smogged we cannot seem to get the catalytic converter monitor to run. They’ve done all the work to get the air fuel mixture, correct as well as the other parameters required for the monitor to run. They check the car for smog readiness and everything else passed, but apparently it’s an automatic fail because the monitor won’t run. What is the best way to force the monitor to run? This has been going on for a few months now. We’ve used cat clean, driven many hundreds of miles etc. any advice?
