After viewing a carfax report on a 2005 corvette I was interested in, I saw that the left rear axle had to be replaced within 9 months of purchase by first owner. can you tell me why this might have happened? There was no wreck reported on the carfax? The car was passed around, six owners in all, some dealer owned. it's for sale now for 26,295. Should I be concerned about the past mechanical axle issue. The vehicle has like 28,000 miles on it in 2021!
It was in an accident. Vehicle history reports only show accidents that resulted in an insurance claim. As long as you pay cash, the accident will not be reported.
That is why I tell people not to rely solely on CarFax for their purchase.
