Scotty, My 81 yo. neighbor is selling his 2005 Lexus SC430 w/69k miles, what are your thoughts? Does it need a timing belt now? If the TB brakes, will the engine be damaged? Is it a money pit? Thanks

If it's original after nearly 25 years, well yeah. Best to get the complete kit and replace the water pump, pulley, and tensioner as well.
If the TB breaks, will the engine be damaged?
The engine will be destroyed.
Is it a money pit?
Being a nearly 20-year-old luxury car the possibility certainly exists.
