Hello! I am looking to buy a used car for general commute + some 1-2 hour trips to cities once in a while. In my town, there is currently a 2005 nissan altima with 180k mileage on sale for $4000. There is also a 2011 Chevrolet impala LS with 160k mileage on sale for $5500. Both of them are from dealerships. I do not know a lot about these cars and I would like to hear some expert opinion. Are spare parts abundant for both of these cars? Thank you very much for all your time and help! I sincerely appreciate it!
They are both awful. Dealers usually get cars like that from auctions where nothing is really known about their history. If dealers are charging $4K-$5.5K for those cars they are really worth 1/2 that or less.
Neither are great to be honest, Id keep looking.

These are throw-away cars. The kind you get when you only need it to last a few months, and they will still probably strand you.
