hi Scotty...long time YT viewer here...and you have helped me with a lot of things thru the years...but i cant seem to find any answer on this one....i have a 2013 fiat 500 OBDII around 180k miles with a manual trans. i have a hard code of p0300 and a pending code of p0304....ive checked vac. hoses..fuel pressure, battery...etc and the it still has a mis-fire with a flashing check engine light..is there anything i have overlooked? thanks in advance
The first thing to do is to erase the codes you have right now. After that, swap the ignition coil from cylinder 4 and put it on to cylinder 2. Then swap the ignition coil from cylinder 2 onto 4. Then drive the car around. If you then get a code saying that cylinder 2 is getting a misfire (i.e., P0302) then you know you have a bad ignition coil. If that's the case, then buy OEM parts only.
If that's not the case, then junk the car. You can still do a wet/dry compression test on all cylinders, but it's not worth replacing a motor on a car like this.
