Hello Scotty,
thank you for taking the time to look at my question.
I am currently lookinng at a 2005 manual rav4 4wd from a dealership in Sacramento California, as far as I know it is clean I am not able to go and look at it in person but I am very interested. My question is. “ is the vehicle worth 8500 with 160k miles on it ?”
What kind of a dealer is selling decades-old cars at outrageous prices? Is it a BHPH ("Buy Here Pay Here') lot? (Worst of the bottom feeders.) Priced at $8500? Kelley Blue Book pegs the fair market dealer price on that vehicle at about $4000 to $5000, and KBB pricing tends to be inflated. So aside from anything else that is a rip-off price.
Not only is it a terrible idea to buy a car sight-unseen, you absolutely must have a mechanic look it over before purchase. You cannot just assume the car is clean and in good condition.
