Hi there I am interested in buying a 2005 Subaru Legacy gt in red from a private seller. The car has 80k on drive train but 275k on body but looks really taken care of. The car has a newer turbo and motor replaced with low milage one and has been fully serviced. The car has been tuned by a someone who specializes in subarus. Car also has a new Inter cookies and seller also let me know that the car puts out 19.5 lbs of boost healthy. The seller is asking 4,600$. Should I take the deal ? Please help me.

Only consider it if it has a manual transmission. Realize that tuned cars are usually driven hard by the owners to use the full capabilities of the car's performance. Have that Subaru checked out by your own independent mechanic - you want to go to a shop that knows Subarus really well. Hopefully, the previous owner made the appropriate supporting mods so the engine can reliably handle the added boost. If you have the knowledge to maintain a modified car and put up with some annoyances that may come with it, then it could be a fun car to own. Otherwise, look for a stock example if you don't want to take on somebody else's project.

Walk for many reasons

Its 17 years old, so expect to put some money into it

The transmission (known to be weak) has failed and been replaced, but you don't know how the work was done or if it was done correctly.

It isn't worth more than 1500 bucks 2000 would be a stretch 4600 is downright outrageous even if it had half the miles and original transmission.
