Hi Scotty, I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma 4.0. It has 160,000 miles on it. It has a cylinder 6 misfire. So far I’ve replaced the plugs, swapped the number 6 coil with 4 and the misfire stayed at 6. I cleaned mass airflow sensor. The plug was never wet. I pulled number 6 plug and put piece of paper over hole and turned it over. No coolant on paper. It is leaking coolant somewhere, but has never overheated and doesn’t smoke at all. I just ran a tank of “super” through it with a bottle of chevron fuel injector cleaner. I think it made it worse. I need help. I’ve been chasing this for months. Wondering if it is head gasket or could it be bad fuel injector? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Sure sounds like it may the head gasket starting to go. Do the test like in Scotty’s video using the test kit.
Have you checked your engine oil to check for a blown head gasket?
When you say it’s leaking coolant, do you mean the coolant level is reducing in the reservoir or you can physically see it leaking from somewhere?
@inthrustwetrust
No when I say leaks I mean mysteriously loses coolant. No visible leaks. Yes I’ve checked engine oil and it looks completely normal.
I agree with InThrustWeThrust.
Check to see if you have blown head gasket. If it is not dripping coolant and you loose a lot, it should burn it.
