I have a 2005 VW GTI golf 207,000miles 5 speed
after driving for at least 20 minutes I head a weird ticking noise that’s slow at first then gets fast, I give it very little throttle and it goes away and then comes back. But after I let it sit for a few minutes it goes away and won’t start doing it again until it’s been driven and it only acts up when at idle and disappears when driving …. Any help would be much appreciated

What engine? What does the owner's manual say about a valve adjustment?
