{black}:excitement: Ok at 1st we had a hard downshift on my 2006 Cadillac CTS v6 81k miles we replaced the tcm and just recently it’s slipping gears 1-2 I’m not sure what it could be we had codes of the internal switch I believe other then that that’s it I have checked the fluid it’s full so what r my possible options thank you
If truly is slipping, trans. i.e. not just strange shifting that appears to slip during the shift. Drain trans fluid, drop pan, inspect filter for metal. If none or very little, put in new filter and fluid and give another try. If a lot of gunk/metal in filter medium, trans rebuild time most likely.
Ok well took the car to get checked out they say it’s in limp mode but multiple codes internal switch code among others but not a transmission going out problem so I’m really not sure what to do what so ever besides a guessing game they said also could be corrosion on connectors or pins among everything else can’t get any worse then not knowing at all which is where I’m at
Did they reset codes? If reset (limp home removed), how long does it take for it to go back in limp mode? If it takes a bit of time you should be able to watch codes pop up with scanner, usually 1 at a time, which can point you to an area to concentrate (fix cause of the first code that pops up first).
I think most mechs here would recommend replacing the car though as you'll be better served long term.
