Well this is more information than a question, but Scotty always says we should share our experiences.
So I have a catch can on my Accord as it does not have port injection to clean off the valves. Yesterday I unscrewed the can and immediately had a strong smell of gasoline. I didn't bother checking the dipstick as I figure if I can smell it so strong in the PCV line, it has got to be in the oil.
Now at 5k miles, looks like my 2.0T is going to have this issue. It's a bummer as I love the car otherwise. Plenty of power, comfortable, and very quiet. My plan going forward is to change the oil every 5k miles as I was going to anyway using full synthetic oil.
I realize there is no fix as it is in the design. However, i just wanted to let everyone know this issue is not limited to the 1.5T as most originally thought.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I wonder if you plan to use the new oil Honda suggested.
@yaser
Yeah I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens.
yeah..I too thought this at 1.5 L, but seems like it is for 2L too. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. That's what is great about this forum. {black}:hi:
