Hi Scotty:

I wanted to know if it's a good idea to buy a 2018 Toyota SE with 91,000 miles for $13,000 at the dealer?  It was manufactured in Japan with a 4 Cyl 2.5 Engine.

If it passes a mechanical inspection I would say go ahead.

Yea, and with that amount of miles, likely most all hwy so it should be like new mechanically.

Find out the car history. If it was drive mostly on highways, it might be a good choice, but city driving destroys the car that is 3 year old with that mileage.

Sadly, I don't think they would know that info. I'll keep looking. Thanks!

I wouldn't because the 2018 had issues where there was a new 8 speed transmission and it jerked and slipped and such. If you check it out and it is fine then I suppose bring it to a mechanic and if all checks out then go ahead but just be wary about the 8 speed.

Check for paint chips on the front bumper. Can be indicative of HWY miles. Also ask what his or her job is (salesmen do a lot of hwy driving) and most importantly if it has service records.
