2000 250K she was completely alright. Now no crank, no power, no lights, the cigarette phone charger doesn't even respond. It's like she just gave up the ghost.
New Alternator, battery - a stranger said Alts can just die outta nowhere but all my life they give warnings. Like the death throws of the dimming lights then you can Jumpstart em like once, THEN they give up the ghost.
Not go from 100% fine, to 100% dead in a flash. All I did was shut her off and turn the key back to listen to music and she lost it.
Pressed the relays and distributor cables in better. Have the positive cable off to see if I can reset her. [I doubt it works like that but there's not a lot to do.] Can't leave her side, she's got all the windows down. [Waiting on two buddies to wake up.]
Any suggestions, Scotty?
I hope it's not a Theft Light situation, she's had that thing for years.
SES and Brake are on but I know why.
Check engine isn't on.
[Well now nothings on now but you guys know what I meant.]
I hope the stranger that said alternator was wrong because he was big and buff and looked like he knew what he was talking about. If he's right, my Alternator is gonna blow out as well.
Alternator? Battery? If she needed a jump she'd at least crank right? [And she doesn't. ] Theft Light situation? Something else?
Should I just start praying?
measure your voltage
Also what's the up down thing on the side of the engine's fusebox? It has to do with power right? What's it called and do? I put it in the down position cause it was up. Genuinely forget everything about it or that it exists. Probably not related to what's happening now but I'll consider anything at this point. I'll sip all the gasoline out if it makes her start again.
Scotty ❤️ 🍀 I took a shot in the dark and disconnected the battery.
Man it fixed it. I was losing my mind. I don't know why it fixed it, or why I thought to do it. I just thought electricity.
I hit ya with so many emails, jumped on here after the Live, hit up the Ford Garage [their service support leaves at NOON??? That's Ford for ya, lemme tell ya. Lady was nice though, s sounded genuinely concerned. ]
Hit up two buddies cause they're twice my age and they crave to fix anything so long as they breathe.
Was about to hit up Bear's, and three other garages. Stranger said alternator and I KNEW it wasn't that.
Disconnected the battery for 30 mins, I've needed to do an ECU relearn anyway. Positive has a lil acid on it, that's new but not serious amount.
Dad said tighten em up, I can only do what I can do, she's getting new ones on the 15th.
But man, I went to reconnect the positive cable, as soon as I saw that spark, I cannot explain the feeling that shot through me. Bang she started right up.
This was all I could do, because the new wrenches were at home and I wasn't gonna leave her wide open.
Cannot believe this worked. I wanna hit solved. But before I do:
Scotty does this suggest anything underlying? Is it as simple give her a spa day and get her new battery cables?
Or with all my steering wheel, radio, and driver's seat issues, is it time for a new full rewiring? Could it be time for a new ECU? [Might be picking the wrong word, the main computer that everything wires to?]
Thanks for the Live and everything, you've made me believe I can do anything by now. Have a great weekend Boss Man and Co. ❤️
