I have a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox 3.4L V6 163K miles. I have code P0405"EGR Sensor A Circuit Low" and U0073" Control Module Communication Bus A Off". Also have abs and traction control lights on. I have been researching and found if the EGR valve is bad it will likely set the abs and trac lights on dash. Does this seem accurate? How do you test an electronic EGR valve? I don't want to replace it if its not it because its a $90 part. I need this fixed so i can get my vehicle to pass emissions. Any suggestions?

Check the valve tube for tight connections before replacing the valve itself.
I did replace the tube because it was cracked and installed new gaskets for the tube and egr valve. All the bolts to the tube and egr valve are tight.
In the old days, we could just tap the EGR valve with a hammer to clean out the carbon but now, you have to replace them. Real progress, huh?
