2006 Ford Escape Hybrid Exhaust mod

Thinking long term on doing an exhaust replacement type thing. I want to have a tad bit more sound coming out the rear pipe, but I don't want to make it sound like a ricer. Any thoughts? I've done some googling but have only found mods done on the v6 escape, and other ford cars that may have the same engine (ranger for ex), and they don't sound too bad. One shop I went to a while back quoted $200. As stated earlier, I only want a little bit more sound, not like ear rape.

I wouldn't recommend it. Why not just get one of those plug in sound devices?

authenticity i guess. Im sure you would b able to tell real sound from a fake one.

haha you read my mind Rod 😆

A lot of new cars some with the system installed. I've never heard it but if they are including it in new cars there must be something to it.

You can buy these gizmos that plug into the cigar lighter, and they play exhaust sounds over your speakers. They actually detect engine RPM and match the sound to it.  You can customize the sound to whatever you like. Make is sound like a V8, V10 etc. Turbocharged if you like.

And the best part is, all the obnoxious noise stays in your cabin for you to enjoy, and I don't have to listen to it!

like ricer vibes lmao

What is the mileage of your vehicle? In my opinion, putting any modifications reduces the reliability of the vehicle. If you want to sacrifice sound over reliability, then go right ahead. I don't think any hybrid vehicles are made for nice sounds from the exhaust. Wait for other responses before doing anything.

mileage is 205k roughly

I don't think it's worth it with that type of mileage.

This mod will continue to stay on the backburner then lol
