I have a 2006 F-150 with a 5.4 triton that has 76,000 miles on it. It has a bad ticking, and a friend told me it was the cam phasers. Do you think that is a possibility? He said the 5.4's was known for that.

Hi Jeffery, welcome to the forum! Please don’t double post as I t’s against forum rules. Thank you.

Could be the cam phasers, collapsed lifter, worn camshaft, lots of things.

Would the cam shaft be worn at 76,000 miles?
