I have a transmission that's hard shifting from park position to drive and the only way it will kick into gear is if I tap on the gas pedal. I put five quarts of brand new transmission fluid in it and I have it nice and hot and whenever I pop the hood to check the fluid it says I have too much fluid in it while the car is running but the automotive says that it takes seven but it says that I'm running too much on five so I don't know what to do it's just the first gear.

Check the procedure in the user's manual.
This quote is from there:
If your vehicle has been operated for an extended period at high speeds, in city traffic during hot weather or pulling a trailer, the vehicle should be turned off for about 30 minutes to allow fluid to cool before checking.
