Hello, there, i have a 2006 Mustang V6 Manual transmission, about 128,000 miles. I have a strange problem. When i drive it slowly in the city at 2nd or 3rd gear, my rpm goes about 2,000 for a few seconds than go back to normal, without pressing the gas pedal. The car is loud because someone before me put double exhaust straight pipes and with this problem one day i was passing by the cops and in the same time the car got higher rpm and they just turned their heads.
PS: Sorry for my bad English, i am not from USA.
PS2: Great videos, Scotty, keep the same way!
Have the throttle check you could be a having a sticky and throttle or electronic problem in it any good mechanic and analyze that electronic throttle system
Could be a sticky throttle. Also, the cam phasers in those were notorious for issues so you may look into that as well.
Your answers remind me, that recently the throttle has been cleaned by a mechanic, but no difference. Also i can't hear any clicking while the engine is running. It's just like the engine is trying to take a breath for a few seconds. Thank you!
