My daughter has a 2006 Nissan Maxima sL, automatic. Was driving home from 50 miles away. Car stalled. She just changed her oil 2/28/22, checked oil before driving. Seemed low so took to Jiffy Lube to top off. Got half way home stalled on the highway. Tried to restart, stalled again. Dad hooked up and brought home. Dropped the oil, due to dipstick saying way too much oil. No shavings in oil. Some sludge. Started car with computer checker on it. The computer started reprogramming and speaking in tongues. Yikes!! Drove it a block runs rough. Changed alternator and battery 1 1/2 years ago. Put in new ball joints, CV and tie rods last summer. It has been a really good car, until now. Where do we start?

did you confuse the diagnostic scanner with one of these? 😆

Good one, Joe.

Start by cursing yourself for taking it to Jiffy Lube.  They probably screwed something up under the hood.

Begin with the basics. Since they overfilled the oil I would start with the spark plugs.

air filter

fuel pressure

etc.

is the check engine light on?

Check engine light has been on and they told her is was no big deal when she had it fixed a year ago. We tried to switch out cam Sensors. Didn't do a lot. I'll see if my mechanic friend has checked plugs, etc. My guess is yes.
