I just picked up a 2006 Toyota RAV 4 FWD 4 cyl. It has 132000 miles on it. There is no documented automatic transmission fluid change. Would you chance one now at this millage? Also do you buy in to only using factory fluid?

Since it’s a Toyota and the color is healthy, ie: red/maroon I would do it, full fluid exchange on the machine with a new filter installed.
Use only synthetic fluid, doesn’t have to be Toyota, just synthetic which will help protect against heat which is the ultimate culprit.
toyota transmissions are much more superior than what is out there today and I would feel more than comfortable doing it.
