[Solved] Car Scan tool & Toyota Vitz Evap problem

Dear Scotty,

Thank you for the forum giving us the opportunity for us to post questions here.

Two somewhat related questions...

You make mention of a number of scan tools.  You recommend Autel most of the time, I was wondering if you had any experience with the iCarsoft CR PRO.  This is at a lower expense than Autel, with obviously less freatures, but with free life time updates.  I has to be a good allrounder with multiregion car capability.  Can you weigh in on this please?  I am comparing to Autel MaxiCom MK808.

The above question is related to a problem I am having with an older Toyota Vitz 2001 petrol 1.0 ManualTrans engine. On occassions smell of fuel coming inside the cockpit especially during when I am stuck in traffic or when I drive drive somewhat aggressively.  I am suspecting the EVAP is not working well and inspected the lines myself, and a mechanic, with no signs of leaks. But the smell is still present. I am gereally good with maintenance, but I leave dangerous fuel related issues to others. In short, I want to check things myself properly this time round.  This problem tilted towards the decision to buy a good scan tool.

P.S. Located in Europe 🙂 I also have European cars- Mercedez Benz, SEAT Diesel (VAG group) as well as Suzuki, and Toyota.

Firts post, and its a pleasure.

Regards,

Daniel

The MK808 is a great device, that’s all you need in my opinion....

Thanks for the reply.

Any of you have any experience with an iCarsoft product?

Daniel
