1996 Honda Accord LX 4 Cylinder, 146,XXX miles, Automatic

OBDII codes: NO Codes

Checked the fuel pressure it is ok

Changed all the spark plugs after she dead 3 times. She still doing the same thing.

Changed the cap and rotor for the distributor. The same things happened twice.

This is my daily car before this happened. I have been driving this car in past 4 yrs has no problem.

Car stumble and shut down 6 times totally within these 2 weeks

4 times happened on highway at around 60 mph, car stumbled and RMP suddenly dropped to zero. I tried to give gas, but the RPM kept dropping. Eventually she shut down Twice happened on stop light, car rpm dropped then engine dead. Most of times she started again when I turn the key. There were twice I had to wait 30s to turn the key to start the car again.

Hope someone could help me solve this puzzle

Since fuel is being delivered, and the ignition basics have been checked, I would suggest that you double-check for any corroded /loose connectors or grounding in your electrical systems, especially your ECU and key sensors - and, if you don't find anything there, start shopping for an OBD scan tool , like the $100 BlueDriver that Scotty recommends (see the tools link at the top of this page).

Thanks for the recomendations. I will check the wires. I have been scaned the car twice And mechanic has scaned as well. No codes from scanner.

Some updates, I replaced the ignition control module unit inside the distributor. This seems solved problem because i have been driving for 2 weeks wothout any problem so far. I should replace the distributor in the first place.
