Hey Scotty, I have a 2007 Acura TL 3.2L automatic with 163k miles, when I accelerate it will sometimes make a whining/whirring noise, especially noticeable when it is cold. I'm thinking it's either the pulleys or tensioners on the alternator or the power steering pump. I had the alternator replaced a year ago. What do you think?

I think I may know what your talking about when I accelerate slow especially when cold I hear a whirring sound too don’t know what it is
I tend to agree, it must be one of the other pulleys that’s run by the serpentine belt which is the culprit. Try to pinpoint the source of the noise before you start to replace parts.
If none of the other pulleys are whining, move your focus to the transmission.
Check your power steering. Sometimes the o-rings on the lines leak and cause air to enter the system, causing a whining noise.
