Hi Scotty, were the 07 4 cylinder Camrys made in Japan still susceptible to the piston ring and oil consumption problem? I was looking at one for sale online and the owner claims they paid more when they bough it new to get a Japanese made one. I searched online and could not find where the Camrys were made that year and if they all have the oil consumption problem regardless of where they were made.

Yes, they are fine. The issues were related to the ones made in US. but to make sure, have a mechanic check it out.
While the Japanese built ones may not have been involved back in the day. It's now a 14 year old vehicle, so anything is possible at this point. Still have it checked out.
The issues were mostly for the US made ones. Is it the 2AZ-FE 2.4 I4?
