I have a 2007 Chevy Impala 3.5 Flex Fuel odometer 174872. My car’s check engine light came on and when I scanned it it was the P0172 code. I also checked the freeze frame and it stated that my fuel alcohol level is %66 which is impossible considering I’ve never put E85 or any ethanol fuel in the tank since I’ve owned the car for the past 3 years. Could this be an issue with the PCM miscalculating the alcohol content? Would taking my car to the dealership to reset fuel trim and flash the PCM fix the issue? I need to pass state emissions test (SMOG) and in California check engine light is automatic failure. Thank you Scotty!
