Hi Scotty,
Thanks for all your great work! You've helped me so much!
Question... Wife and I are looking at a new car for us and our 5 month old daughter here in Southern Ontario, Canada. I came across a guy who was selling his 93 year old mom's 2007 V6 Chevy Malibu for $7000. If a serious buyer came along he would also get it saftied and include that in $7000. The car only had her as owner and was parked in garage during Canadian winter. It's got a measly 30,200 km on it (18,765 miles). Car looks great in photos and engine looks brand new. There is also a carfax report he'd be willing to get.
Assuming test drive goes well I'm wondering if this would be a good car? Taking into account we we may potentially use it to drive to Fort Worth TX to see family.
I know with that low km it can have issues of its own. Gummed up engine, leaking seals, and such. And I know some Chevy cars just aren't good. Your thoughts?
Thanks!
Well I'm not a fan of those things, but with such low mileage it could be a good car. But you want a mechanic to check it out with this fancy scan tool to see what shape its action we're in. And if it is okay, they're going to have a hard time getting that kind of money for an almost 20-year-old GM car. I had to offer him $50,500 and see how you could negotiate it if it checks to be okay
