I just purchased a 1 owner, well kept 2007 Honda CR-V EX AWD. Only known problem is the AC doesn’t blow cold. The other day when I started the car I heard a slight clicking sound and so I drove it a bit and as I accelerated the clicking got louder. The next day I started it up and the clicking sound was just barely there while driving. It seemingly runs and drives great and shifts well too! I just have no idea what that clicking sound might be?! Please tell me if you have any idea of what that might be?! Also if there are any known/common mechanical issues with this particular Cr-v?
Is the oil full? Possibly if low you could be hearing a lifter noise since you say it happens just sitting not moving
I thought it might be the oil so I bought some Valvoline 5W-20 and put just a tad in. It was only just over the first circle on the dip stick originally and now since the pour in, it’s over the second circle mark. I suppose it seems a bit quieter now but clicking is still there, then today when I started it, it was raining and sounds like a squeaky belt? so I’m not sure if it’s a belt and those two noises are related? Thank you for your reply btw!
If you have a stethoscope or a long screwdriver to use as one when the noise is present you can use that to go to individual pulleys or parts of the engine in order to isolate the noise further
