TLDR: 2007 Ridgeline 155K miles, V6, auto trans, new battery (Nov 2020) and new door switch, no interior lights still and fuse checked.

Hello, we have a 2007 Honda Ridgeline 155K miles V6 automatic transmission New battery(Nov 2020) and none of the interior lights work lights weren't working previously either. They were working and all of a sudden just stopped working completely and never had any intermittent working and not working issues. We have checked the fuses and that doesn't seem to be the issue and we have replaced the door light switch on the dash and that didn't help either.  So no lights and nothing when we open the door etc. Weird thing is once and only once I opened the door and then shut the door and the lights did all of a sudden come on. They stayed on until all the doors were shut and they went off like they normally would. They have never came back on again since and when I opened the door again after we got to where we were going they didn't come on. So not sure what could have caused them to come on like that and then not work again.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sounds like a kink/short in the electrical system.

If you remember what door you opened that caused them to come on, I would start by checking all of the wiring that runs to that door....probably starting on the hinged side.

Running down these issues is typically difficult and costly. But to me it sounds like something got pinched somewhere.

It was the Front Passenger door. Also would that cause lights to just not work in general so when I push the button on the lights themselves nothing happens either.

Thanks,

If there is a short or break in the wiring, absolutely. Those lights all run through the same wiring harness and on the same circuit. So any issue would be enough to affect everything powered by that harness.
