Hello, i have an 07 Nissan murano with 160k miles. We bought the car at around 115k miles, but i have no idea or any record of whether the cvt fluid has been changed. I notice that the car jerks when you are about to come to a complete stop. Basically it doesn’t jerk when i first start braking just when its almost at a complete stop. Im worried that it’s slipping when it downshifts to the lower gears. Would it be a good idea to change the fluid, or would it be best to just leave it. I ask because ive heard Scotty say that if it hasn’t been regularly serviced then changing the old fluid would cause it to slip more, so any advice would be much appreciated!
Look at the color and smell of the current fluid. If it’s not extremely dark or smells burnt it could be worth a shot but if you’re having a concern with the cvt then it’s a very low chance it’ll help anything. Just make sure the fluid is at the proper level and uses Nissan fluid if you add any
Yes. Feels like a delayed downshift or sudden engine brake.
Common complaint of early Nissan CVT's.
Sorry, I don't have a diagnosis or fix. I just learned to avoid sudden stops in my Sentra.
