Hey Scotty, I have a 2007 Saturn ion 5 speed manual with 180,000 miles. In cooler weather it runs fine, but when the outside temperature gets above 80 degrees(humid Alabama weather) the car goes into limp mode. Especially happens in stop and go traffic.

we'll make sure the car's temperature gauge doesn't rise up are you having overheating problem that would do that but if the gauge stays still in the middle like it always did I would assume you have some type of wiring and or computer circuit failure that when it heats up it shorts out.let's start with the simple stuff like having the battery and alternator load tested one or both of those could be bad causing such a problem and that's an easy test
