hi i have a 2007 sienna salvage tittle i have put on it about 60,000 miles on it it has 200,000 miles right now i have put in it 4500 dollars its a great car but i felt that something was off and then i realized that a piece fell out so i took it to the mechanic and he told me it had a broken strut just one he said he would charge me 1400 to fix it what should i do should i get rid of it or fix it i am not handy with cars so i cannot fix it
Lets clarify your nomenclature a bit.....When you say broken strut..is the strutt assembly in itself OR the stut mounting in the body of the fender which is cracked ?
Let me add this...if its a broken strut then you can obtain one at a junk yard and have it installed. for so less money then what this was quoted if I got this right. With the money saved you could have both strutt cartidges purchased from eBAY for $129 plus install. Alignment would be $80. Are we within budget Sir ?
Get a second opinion. If it's the same then get rid of it.
