I have an 07 Avalon with an AC issue. When I start the car, sometimes the AC will come on, or it wont. Usually, I have to get the car rolling before it starts blowing cold. Sometimes this doesn't happen at all. But, more often, the AC will blow cold air at first and then stop, then start again after about a minute or two. It will continue this cycle as I drive the car. Luckily it never becomes uncomfortable, but it is annoying. I took it to the Toyota dealer which said that my compressor was showing signs of failure and they recommended that every component in the AC system be replaced ( I think this is a bunch of BS). What is likely the problem here?
I would start by evacuating the refrigerant and filling it up with a factory load and make sure that the AC relay works they're pretty cheap you could replace that and that the cooling fans both blow hard
But that all that may need a new compressor
