I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla with about 182k miles. I found out it needs a new automatic transmission and 2 motor mounts. Should I replace them or just get a new car entirely?
Update: All in all the cost will be about 3k for labor and the parts itself
If it were me, I would rather spend a couple of thousand on a new trans and motor mounts than $40,000 on a new vehicle with a worse transmission that what I already have. You may have noticed all the questions on this forum about transmission problems with "new" vehicles.
I meant like a used car not a brand new one
Your choice. You did say "new" car in your question.
I would get a second opinion from a transmission expert first.
What happened to your present automatic transmission?
not exactly sure. all i know is it needs to be replaced
How do you know if it needs to be replaced?
mechanic said so. he gave us a few options of transmissions or it could be 2000 plus parts if he rips it open and fixes it that way
