My Girlfriend just bought this and now said it clunks going into reverse. I saw a video saying you cant see a worn motor mount move by basically have someone apply brake and throttle, while someone observers for movement. The other method that I am aware of is putting a wooden block on a jack putting that under the oil pan and jacking while someone looks for movement. The brake stand sounds so much easier?

If you’re unsure, it’s best to have it checked by a professional mechanic.

You can also use a pry bar, after the car is safely jacked up in the air, on Jack stands.

The wooden block method is the safest. If the chassis lags a lot behind the engine and/or transmission, you know it’s one of the mounts.

If it’s not the mounts, then you need to visit a transmission specialist.

Just rev the rpms up to about 6500, keep the hood open and slam it into reverse. If the motor flys out the engine bay then yep, you got a bad mount. 🤣🤣 Sorry Im in one of those moods today.

InThrustWeTrust has got ya. Follow his instructions above and your good. Good Luck!
